Looming threat of ‘Enduring Despair’

When we hear Armageddon (any great or crucial conflict) or Apocalypse (any universal or widespread destruction or disaster: the apocalypse of nuclear war.) we’re, certainly, not thinking of the, ever present, crisis, of eroding social welfare, afoot.

However, we’re, oftentimes, thinking instead, of the Book of Revelation in the New Testament of the Christian Bible, where, Armageddon (/ˌɑːrməˈɡɛdən/, from Ancient Greek: Ἁρμαγεδών Harmagedōn, Late Latin: Armagedōn, from Hebrew: הַר מְגִדּוֹ‎ Har Məgīddō) is the prophesied location of a gathering of armies for a battle during the end times, which is variously interpreted as either a literal or a symbolic location and Apocalypse has come to be used popularly as a synonym for catastrophe, but the Greek word apokálypsis, from which it is derived, means a revelation.

The term, Armageddon, is also used in a generic sense to refer to any end of the world scenario. In Islamic theology, Armageddon is also mentioned in Hadith as the Greatest Armageddon or Al-Malhama Al-Kubra (the great battle).

While these uses do apply, due to general perception, they also, surprisingly, apply, in this unperceived way, as well.

Existence has borne much to Human Civilization, including adversities, as well as, triumphs and in unique cases, even more so.
